Current Issues in Journalism – How disruptive innovations have been altering journalism.

Together with professionals and experts from the publishing industry, we will discuss the transformations in the sector and will take a look at similarities and differences in the German and American markets. Our goal is to introduce the tremendous transformation process of the publishing industry to the general public.

As the international print and publishing industries in the United States and Germany have been undergoing a tremendous change. While traditional publishers experience a growing market pressure from new players, many people benefit from the opportunities that online publishing brings. Traditional publishers have been responding with cost-saving while trying to tap into new innovative forms to connect with their readers and the development of new business models, be it in the form of new innovative services aimed at their target audiences or new innovative forms of communication e.g. augmented and/or virtual realit and data visualizations.
